Operation Give and Paul Holton have two active Thunderclap campaigns going on. Essentially, this is a crowd speaking app. https://youtu.be/wvPfuV00-1k We are looking for 100 supporters. If we get 100 supporters we will have around 500,000 individuals contacted in one day. If everyone who has volunteered or donated time, money and supplies were to click on these links then click the Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr links we would have 3 to 4 times as much support we need. We could easily hit over a million impressions. The first thing one notices upon entering the Yazidi refugee camp is the children. They seem to be everywhere—chasing each other between the UN tents, playing games in the dirt, climbing trees clinging to life in the unwatered soil. http://observer.com/2016/08/what-yazidi-refugees-fleeing-isis-want-americans-to-know/ Now, their culture hangs in the balance. Its survival depends on an ancient woman who can neither see nor walk, but can remember all too well. It depends on a saint like Nadia Murad, who wanted nothing more than to become a school teacher in the shadow of Mount Sinjar and now carries the weight of her people’s grief. And ultimately, it depends on us, on whether the world awakens to the suffering of the Yazidis, or lets it count for nothing.

The sexual violence and persecution of refugees is a crisis deserveing more global outrage, said Elder Jeffrey R. Holland of the LDS Church's Quorum of the Twelve Apostles over the weekend at a conference at famous Windsor Castle in England. "The world needs to be more outraged than it is," he said, "when we read of the persecution, the violence, the sexual violence, the murder, the rape, the destruction of families and any social structure that these people have had — almost entire cultures being destroyed." http://www.deseretnews.com/article/865662238/At-Windsor-Castle-Elder-Holland-says-world-needs-more-outrage-over-refugees-plight.html

At the start of the U.N. General Assembly, the Kurdistan Regional Government (or KRG) publicly warned that it was running out of money to provide basic services to the nearly 1.8 million Iraqis and Syrians who have fled there. Unless the regional government receives a quick infusion of hundreds of millions of dollars, "there is going to be absolute destitution among the displaced population that we have not seen since the 1990s under Saddam," the KRG's U.S. representative, Bayan Sami Abdul Rahman, told me Tuesday. The current refugee crisis created by the Syrian and Iraqi civil wars has received significant attention in recent weeks as hundreds of thousands of refugees have sought new lives in Europe. But it's the countries in the Middle East that are suffering the most as a result of the ongoing war.

This picture is from the refugee camp in Duhok, Iraq. This one of two major camps we hope to send 1 million pounds of supplies too. There are currently a little over 2.5 million refugees. They had to flee from their homes near Mosul due to the savagery of ISIS. Many of them are Christian or of Yazidi dissent. Tomorrow Operation Give will be raising supplies from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. We could use volunteers to help move supplies. We also need more goods. Especially first-aid and baby items. Operation Give could also use funds to ship supplies over as well. The address is; Operation Give Mesa Moving & Storage 2275 South 900 West Dock 49 Salt Lake City, UT 84119 You can find more information about the event at https://www.facebook.com/events/1100740896659912/ You can also donate money at http://www.plumfund.com/charity-fundraising/OperationGive or www.operationgive.org Please share this with your family and friends!

Here is the story how Operation Give came about from Paul Holton's own words. http://operationgive.org/index.php/ “I saw a little girl crying outside the barbed wire fence by the front gate of the CPA palace where I worked, inside the US-controlled Green Zone. Her mother, who had only one leg, had hobbled inside to talk to someone and the little girl had been separated from her and was left standing outside the fence.” “She was obviously very poor, wearing a tattered old dress, totally worn-out shoes, her hair matted against her head, indicating she hadn’t had a bath in a long time, and her skin blistered from the dirt and weather” “Once I saw her, I quickly told the MP’s to move the barbed wire back to let her in so she could join her mother. Her crying stopped as she darted in to grab a hold of her mother’s long black dishdasha which was also torn and frayed from years of use. I told the mother to stay there so I could get her something from my quarters.”

The Kurdish Regional Government has put out a press-release about the Refugee situation in their country. http://cabinet.gov.krd/a/d.aspx?s=040000&l=12&a=53710 Without a significant increase in funding from the International Community and financial transactions from Government of Iraq, the Kurdistan Region will not be able to contain the humanitarian crisis.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XYx5B1rdXxE Paul Holton explains the creation of Operation Give in this video. This year Operation Give is going to deliver 1 million pounds of supplies to the refugees in Northern Iraq. There are approximately 2.5 million refugees who have fled the savagery of ISIS. Operation Give has developed relationships with the Kurdish Regional Government and has permission to ship 10 large shipping containers to the Christian and Yazidi refugees. The humanitarian need has grown increasingly dire. Last winter Operation Give delivered two containers of supplies to Iraq. In order to deliver on this goal Operation Give needs to raise $100,000. They are raising funds on http://www.plumfund.com/charity-fundraising/OperationGive and on their site, www.operationgive.org. The leaders of the camps are especially looking for first-aid supplies and baby goods. Operation Give will be holding a donation drive at Mesa Moving and Storage on August 27th. From 10 a.m.

"The headlines of the daily news stories flash before our consciousness like a stream of endless neon lights and are forgotten just as fast. But, regardless of the short duration stories actually find space in our minds, the plight of the suffering Christians goes on and on, day after day, as ISIS grows in strength and recruits. The death, carnage, and destruction continues. What will be our response and how long will be care." Chief Wiggles Our contact on the ground has requested supplies for babies and young children. For instance, diapers, clothes and formula.
