My name is Levi Baus, and I am a Life Scout in Archbold Boy Scouts Troop 63. I am raising funds for Archbold Area Schools as part of my Eagle Scout Project. The funds will go towards purchasing eighty trauma kits. One kit will be installed in each Archbold classroom.
The trauma kits are more advanced first aid kits; they include items such as chest seals, compression bandages, tourniquets and more. The kits are intended to treat life-threatening injuries such as puncture or bullet wounds. When this type of injury occurs, someone may lose their life before help arrives. These kits are made to provide immediate treatment to someone in a critical situation.
I will also be working with the F.A.S.T.E.R Saves Lives Program to provide the school staff with the medical training necessary to use the kits effectively.
With funds raised from the community, we can provide Archbold Area Schools with the materials they need to help make it a safer place. The kits cost $65. In order to assemble and place a kit in all 76 classrooms (and a few common areas) and complete this project, I need to raise a total of $5,400. If we surpass our fundraising goal, the extra funds will be given to the schools to use for first aid expenses, such as restocking the trauma kits, or purchasing additional kits if needed. Extra money may also be donated to other schools in the area to help them reach a higher level of safety for their students.
I would greatly appreciate any donations for this project. With your help, we can make Archbold Area Schools a safer place to be for youth and adults. Thank you for making that possible.
