Adligo.org is a suite of Java projects which has been built by Adligo Inc. In the last year the Tests4j and Fabricate proof of concept projects were released;
https://github.com/search?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q=adligo.org
https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/fabricate-tests4j-now-githubcom-scott-morgan
Tests4j is a concurrent testing tool initially designed to enhance or succeed Junit, which also has code coverage integration. Tests4j groups test methods into Trials. The initial release had the following Trial types;
SourceFileTrial: Targeted at a single Java source file.
ApiTrial: Targeted a API, or interactions within a Java Package.
UseCaseTrial: Targeted at a Use-Case (incomplete in the initial release).
MetaTrial: Targeted at testing the aggregated metadata from the other test results (i.e. Total code coverage %, % of classes with SourceFileTrials in a package).
Tests4j next release will contain an additional trial type;
DataTrial: Targeted at testing data (i.e. test data from a database).
Also the UseCaseTrial type will be useable, with a XML schema for Use-Cases, so that analysis can be provided to developers/testers.
Fabricate is a concurrent build tool initially designed to succeed Ant and Maven. Fabricates initial release is compatible with and makes concurrent use of Git (github.org). It provides a modular pluggable extension mechanism in order to allow clean dependency (i.e. a fabricate project group with 4 projects could use Junit 3 in project A and Junit 4 in project B).
Hopefully in the next release (or the one after that), the following features will be added;
1) Remote API for Tests4j.
2) Plugin for Fabricate which runs the Remote API for Tests4j.
3) Plugin for Fabricate which runs Junit (for legacy/migration)
Other features on the wish list include;
1) Gwt compiling from Fabricate.
2) War creation from Fabricate.
3) Implementation of Taxi and Sanctum (formerly called Asdc, Asdce and Asdci), a redundant self healing cloud messaging architecture.
4) Concurrent API to extend Tests4j to perform Use-Case testing of web sites and web applications.
5) Implementation of Intelligence4j, a development process tool like JIRA which will integrate with Tests4j xml Use-Cases and test results. Intelligence4j will be based on Taxi and Sanctum.
6) A Eclipse plugin for Tests4j (eventually to display code coverage highlighting like emma does).
7) A Eclipse plugin for Fabricate.
Adligo will publish it's development on adligo.org at least once a year to github.com. If donations exceed the current average Senior Java Developer, Adligo will attempt to hire additional personal to speed up development.
https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=java%20software%20developer%20average%20salary
Development donations will be accepted once a release with Fabricate running Tests4j is up on github.com. Adligo Inc will set aside 10% of monetary donations and will attempt to reward development donations with some sort of developers of the year system to be determined later.
Monetary donations to the adligo.org project suite are NOT tax deductible by individuals. Monetary donations by business or other entities may consider donations tax deductible, on the basis that they are hiring Adligo Inc to research and develop adligo.org projects.
Reasons to Contribute:
Tests4j, Fabricate and Intelligence4j when fully realized will greatly enhance the productivity of software developers, automated and manual testers and trace-ability of requirements and effort throughout the software development process. This will enable organizations and individuals to realize a greater ROI (Return on Investment) when investing in software development. In addition to a boost in ROI these projects will allow for a reduction in friction/chaos that often plagues software development by increasing transparency for the stakeholders.
On a final note if you are a software administrator, architect, developer, manager or tester please consider attempting to convince your organization to donate to adligo.org.
