JD Yerkes is a 2001 graduate of LakeVille High School who had two major events/injuries while serving our country as an Army Staff Sergeant. JD suffered a closed head injury back in 2006 and then in June of 2011 his convoy was hit by an IED, injuring his knees, back, and shoulder. These two injuries have left JD with neurological damage, chronic pain, and difficulty walking without assistance. JD receives care at his local VA hospital, and his doctors have told him that he cannot drive or work. His pain and debilities have gotten worse over the years. JD is home now with his wife Nichol and their two children, Sidnie (6) and Ethan (2). His VA case for benefits is still pending. I'm hoping to raise some money to help alleviate some of JD's financial burdens until his VA benefits can be approved. Please consider donating, and JD, thank you for your service!
