Taking Care Of Felicia, Our Own

We need to stand in the gap for Felicia Eaves who is currently waiting eviction from her apartment. She needs $5000 today to stay the eviction and provide a small financial cushion until she is able to secure employment. She has been unemployed for the last six months.

I make this appeal on behalf of Felicia Eaves, my colleague, co-conspirator in all things justice and my friend. Felicia, a dedicated and committed social justice activist has been on the front lines of fighting social ills, injustices and hate for decades. Often as activists do, sacrificing her well-being for the community.

We have a long and cherished bond from our days in Black Voices for Peace with our Beloved Brother Damu Smith. I served as Co-Chair and she severed as Vice-President. How we miss those days of organizing and campaigning with Damu. Felicia was a confidant and important friend as we worked in the trenches of ignorance, hate and fear.

I appreciate her unique joyful spirit and uncompromising voice to peace, justice and liberation. She has been a great force in calling for the end of the illegal occupation of Palestine and the right to self-determination for the people of Palestine.

We cannot let Felicia be homeless. She has earned our support and now deserves our attention to ensure she can be secure in her home. She also needs employment. If you have a job or know someone who can provide a good job, with good wages and benefits, please let us know right away.

However, today, we need your contribution: no matter how small, Felicia would greatly appreciate your assistance. While she may be a little embarrassed to make this appeal, I trust our community will not let her down.

I pray too, that your contribution will be returned to you many times over.
