Scott’s Appeal
Friends of Scott know he’s going through a very rough time. He is mounting an appeal that will cost at least $12,500, and thanks to privatization, has to pay for his own jail time and court costs. It is also impossible for him to meet his current financial obligations. He'll have further legal costs and child-support obligations related to Katie and Luke. He really needs our help.
Thanks to one generous soul, we were able to hire the appellate attorney with a $3000 deposit. I'd like to think Scott's friend are good for another 10. Let's show him and Jenny our love and support!

WOW... I was not expecting so much generosity in response to my last post. Thank you so much to everyone who chipped in. I'm sending the lawyer for Scott's appeal a check on Monday for at least $1000 (more if more comes in). Only need to find another $1500 get the lawyer what he needs... If you missed the last post: Scott is doing incredibly well, all things considered. However, he just got a very rough break: His caseworker screwed up, and she's been telling Scott for months that he would be getting out in April. Jenny came back from staying with her parents in England because of that misinformation, and is distraught to find out it will be at least another six months or so. We're trying to get the appeal moving faster, which if successful on either charge, would mean his immediate release, but we need to raise at another 1500 as quickly as possible to move that forward...

Scott is doing incredibly well, all things considered. However, he just got a very rough break: His caseworker screwed up, and has been informing Scott for months that he would be getting out in April. Jenny came from staying with her parents in England because of that misinformation, and is distraught to find out it will at least another six months or so. We're trying to get the appeal moving faster, which if successful on either charge, would mean his immediate release, but we need to raise at least 2500 as quickly as possible to move that forward...

Parker, did you just post this a few days ago, 2017? I want to be sure.
For amounts over 500, it might be better to send a check directly to the lawyer or to me to avoid the processing fee. Email me if that's the case: parker@parkerbennett.com

I changed the URL to better reflect where the money will be directed now, which is Scott's immediate legal defense needs. Thanks to everyone who has so generously contributed. Even $25 really helps!
