Nikki Berthiaume is a bubbly and beautiful 19-year old young lady. On May 30, 2015 she had planned to go to brunch with a group of friends to celebrate one of their birthdays. Plans changed quickly, however, on this bright, sunny day when an unexpected invite was made for a boat ride. Nikki and her friends found themselves boating, swimming, tanning and enjoying life near Spectacle Island in Boston. Nikki was in the water and swimming back towards the boat when she was critically injured by the boat’s propeller. Her right arm was severed, her left arm badly injured, her abdomen severely lacerated. She also suffered a laceration on her head as well as multiple areas across her body. Nikki has undergone three surgeries so far, unsure if future surgeries will be needed. She is now fighting for her recovery with a positive attitude and determination. The road ahead is a long one with much work to do both physically and emotionally. She continues to get excellent medical care, but will need continued medical care for the rest of her life. Nikki has won the fight for her life, but is now in need of funds to pay for her continuing medical care and treatment including physical rehabilitation and prostheses. Nikki remains in the hospital since May 30, 2015 and is without income to pay for her mounting expenses.
Please help Nikki continue in her recovery. All donations will help cover the cost of mounting medical expenses.
Donations can be made through this site. Checks can also be made out to Nicole Berthiaume Trust Fund and mailed directly to Hometown Bank c/o Nicole Berthiaume, 569 Southbridge Street, Auburn MA 01501
