Started by: Ciarra Mason
My name is Ciarra, I am 22 years old and single with no children.
For close to a year I have had crippling abdominal pain along with many other symptoms. GI issues have been ruled out and the doctors are 99% sure I have endometriosis. Endometriosis does not show up on any imaging, the only way to confirm the diagnosis is through laparoscopic surgery.
Although I do have days when the pain isn't as severe, it impacts my daily life in many ways. I am unable to work more than a couple of days a week and I don't have much of a social life. Aside from the pelvic pain, this disease can cause infertility, bowel and bladder issues, crippling fatigue, depression, anxiety and a host of other symptoms that can make daily life a struggle.
I do not have any medical insurance and the discounted cost for the surgery I need is $7,365 up front. That price doesn't include any after care, medication or living expenses during recovery. I have tried everything I could to get assistance through various different agencies and community service programs but have been unable to get the assistance I need. The longer I go untreated the more the disease progresses, my symptoms worsen, and the probability of long term complications increases.
I do not like having to ask for assistance in this form, but I have put it off for quite some time and tried every other option I could think of. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
