Dear Lolos and Lolas, Aunties, Uncles, and friends,
Greetings!
The recently concluded 2014 NABA (North American Basketball Association) Inter-City Basketball Tournament held in Chicago, Illinois was a total success. AJ's team made it all the way to the semi-finals!!! This year we're heading back over the border to Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Windsor will host the 28th NABA annual event on Labor Day holiday weekend.
The Filipino-American Youth Basketball Association (FYBA) will be sending a delegation of players and coaches to compete in this 2-Day tournament, with the participation of cities from all over US and Canada.
Competition in this tournament will be tough, as about 100 teams from the different cities will see action with more than 200 games to be contested. The tournament currently uses a format that divides players into 10 age divisions: Tykes (under 11), Peewee (under 13), Bantam (under 15), Juniors (under 17), Girls (under 17) Juveniles (under 20), Men's Open, Women's Open, Seniors (35 and over) and Masters (45 and over). In conjunction with the basketball competitions is the 2014 Miss NABA pageant which has become a major part of the weekend festivities.
This is AJ's 4th year participating in this competition. He will be playing in the Bantam division, with Papa, Eric, as head coach. The family is very excited and proud of them for all their dedication and hard work.
We are asking, on behalf of AJ, for donations to offset some of the costs (registration, basketball gear, training, travel, hotel, etc.) of his participation in this tournament. If you would like to donate to his fund to help our family, please let us know, any amount would be helpful and greatly appreciated!!! Without your continued support every year, we would not be able to continue this endeavor.
We can pick up donations that are local. You can also donate via mail, Paypal to Eric's yahoo account (drumr804@yahoo.com), or through this website, plumfund.com.
In appreciation of your support of $25 or more, we would like to give you one of their FYBA team "Spirit" shirt. Please, also let us know what size you would like for us to order. If you could forward to any family members I may have missed, that would be greatly wonderful.
We still have some donor shirts from previous years, please let us know if you did not receive yours.
Thanks in advance for your support, we truly apprciate it. Please keep Eric, AJ, the team, and their families in your prayers. We love you all! May God be praised & bless you all!
In JMJ,
Lili, Eric, and AJ
