ALOHA!

If you have ever connected with me before, in this lifetime or another, you know me as being real and authentic. I offer myself to many, in an equal exchange, by connecting in present moments, however that form may be. I am calling a gathering and asking you to connect with me as I create a new life in my womb (yay!) and not by the standard well wishes and gifts that most receive during baby showers or baby gifts, but by connecting with me in genuine LOVE energy and seeking to share monetarily with me and donate to a fund that will help me birth little Anouk at home. Insurance in Pennsylvania does not cover the costs of at home, or layman's, midwifery care. Birthing at home in Pennsylvania is NOT illegal but it also has not been written into law, a loophole that allows me to safely (and legally) deliver at home. A home birth has been a dream of mine ever since my first pregnancy (this is my fourth!), but all the home birth midwives I met and connected with did not fit my standards of wisdom and safety. It took a little time and I am now confident that I have found a small, wise group of Women who are willing to be with me to help birth Anouk into this world safely, peacefully...and at home. I am asking those who wish to connect and share birth blessings to do so by donating to this fund. This fund will cover the costs of all my monthly/weekly(at the end) prenatal visits, three-day postpartum care, two-week postpartum care and six-week postpartum care. Any additional funds that I raise will go towards craniosacral therapy for both me and Anouk. On April 12th I will host a Birth Gathering where those who wish to celebrate with me (male or female) can come for a potluck, tea drinking, foot baths, meditation and a space to create art to be hung in my space during the birth. Mahalo(Thank You) for taking the time to connect and read this and I share so much Aloha(Love) and Gratitude with you!

*There are many ways to donate on this site. You can pledge on the site and give the monetary gift OFFLINE where the cost is free OR pay with PAYPAL or credit/debit card with a charge of 4.9% + $.30. being deducted from your donor gift.*

Latest Update

Many events have transpired, and with major lack of funds, it seems that a Birth Center is what will be happening with the birth of Anouk. We make birth plans and they don't always happen as we plan. It's part of the art of letting go and stepping into the abyss of the unknown. In light of all of this, and the swirl of many life events brewing, the Birth Gathering for this Sunday, April 12th is cancelled. It no longer feels authentic nor resonates with me. I will celebrate privately the upcoming birth in love and authenticity. Mahalo to those who did donate. The $ was passed along for the few visits I did have with my private midwife. Much Wombyn love to you all!

13 more days until my Birth Gathering! Funds are still very low and I am nowhere near to paying for the home birth and it is looking more and more like I will be giving birth at the Midwife Center, not ideal for me. I am having faith for a home birth but also surrendering and letting go of the outcome. What will be will be. Work has begun to lessen my hours (without pay) due to disagreements of business practices. Everything feels thick and heavy right now. It has been a wonderful time to meditate deeply and connect with the realness of my soul. It is such a beautiful time to connect with those that living life and sharing it with the world. A purple Spring crocus flower from my eldest daughter behind my ear after a morning spent slowly finding a groove for our day. It's their Spring break from school, my day off and we had to go see the Maternal Fetal Specialist to see if checking my blood glucose was necessary anymore. It was beautiful to hear the doctor to affirm, in front of my children, how healthy I am at eight and a half months pregnant. Her concern is to make sure I don't lose weight. Our day is flowing and it makes me miss the daily flow with them. One day we will have our balance. For now, we breathe in one another and connect where we are.

Baby Belly! 8 months and she is growing so full in my belly. I love my growing body and feeling life dance in my womb. A song of love sung that arrived to me as a feather on the wind. I relish and give such gratitude for being a mama again. I trust my body and live in that truth. And I love all the little handprints on the mirror from my other keiki.

Visit my website and read my latest post on my blog about what is happening as a result of refusing the oral glucose intolerant test given to women during pregnancy. Yet one more reason I want to have a home birth. Please help me in making this dream a reality. I have faith. Share with friends and Wombyn you feel would help support this in happening. 42 Days Left Until my Birth Fund closes. Mahalo to all my supporters thus far. If I do not reach my goal the $ goes to my private midwife and I hope to have enough to retain her as my doula. I still have BIG hopes for my homebirth. As of recent the Birth Center, where I have continued parallel care as a second option, has made it difficult for me. I refused the Glucose test because of my finely tuned Ketogenic diet. They are now sending me to a Maternal Fetal Specialist because of my refusal of the test and will refuse care entirely if I do not meet with the specialist even though the baby and I are healthy. I am asking again for support so I can have a safe home birth. I am honoring my heart and aligning myself to allow the birth to unfold safely and peacefully. Home is where I am pulled. Mahalo to all and please share with friends who might help as well. Artwork by Cate Simmons. Check out her Etsy Shop. https://www.etsy.com/shop/steeringfornorth

Experimenting from my authentic self, forever evolving, changing, questioning. This full moon ushers in waves of emotion, allowing old patterns and pains to be brought up to the surface to heal and let go. I had a visit with my midwife tonight that I plan to have a home birth with, even with not knowing how I will pay her in full. My life is evolving and it feels so good to feel it all and allow space for creativity and life to breathe and be honored. I am experimenting with a ketogenic diet DURING pregnancy. Thus far it is so beautiful. I am 30 weeks and have gained 15lbs with all the checkups are right on. I'm refusing the glucose test to test for gestational diabetes and I am still continuing with honoring my health and that of my baby, even with not much scientific research having been conducted. I am sharing my experiences of painless birth, honoring the wisdom of myself and I am listening to this baby. I have no idea what is to come but I heal, create and to let go. Surrender.

Life is slowing way down in my 3rd trimester. I have always had an unhealthy relationship with pain. I abuse the threshhold line quite often but this time in my life I am learning a lesson of honoring my pain. I not only create space for it but I welcome it and learn from it. My strength movements are moving towards yoga, dance, ballet, walking and meditation. About 42 more days until my Birth Gathering. This present life of uncertainty is something I breathe into and continue to live life from an authentic space. My heart. If you are able to donate please do. If not please connect and share a space of positive energy. I am feeling and envisioning a healthy, peaceful home birth with the midwives by my side. Mahalo to all who share with me in this life.
