Get ready for an adventure September 18 - 20th, 2015! This is part physical challenge, part pub-crawl - the perfect blend for a 40th birthday.
ITINERARY:
9/18 Friday
Evening at the Bartlow's (out of towners take BART to Lafayette)
BBQ and beers. Crash on couches and air mattresses.
9/19 Saturday
Drop off by Uber in Mill Valley for brunch at the Sweetwater Cafe
7 mile hike over Mt Tamalpais through the redwoods to the ocean
Possible side trip to a Bavarian chalet in the forest (that serves beer)
Dinner at The Pelican Inn at Muir Beach
Stay at an AirBnB walking distance from the pub and the beach
9/20 Sunday
12 mile hike through the Marin Headlands and across the Golden Gate Bridge. (My pregnant wife and I did this in a little over 4 hours - so I'm sure you're all up for it.)
Early supper in the Presidio (Liverpool Lil's or Presidio Social Club)
Disperse after dinner, or travelers are welcome to another evening at the Bartlow's
LOGISTICS
Flights can be in/out of either OAK or SFO. Arrive at my house any time after 5pm on Friday 9/18. (3532 Herman Drive, Lafayette, CA 94549) Departures after 7pm on Sunday 9/20 should be fine.
PRICING
Asking for $100 per person to offset the cost of the lodging and transportation - but more so to get an accurate headcount. The only other expenses should be food and drink. PLEASE commit early and firmly so I can coordinate accommodations - the options are extremely limited where we're going.
PACKING LIST FOR THE HIKE
Day pack with Camelbak or water bottle
Fleece and/or light water proof jacket
Comfortable shoes (boots not required)
Sun screen & sun glasses
Hiking clothes for Saturday and Sunday
Change of clothes for Saturday afternoon / evening
