Here's a little about how this all happened: Grayson was sick last week with some upper respiratory things so we took him to our nurse practitioner at my work. She said his ear tubes were clogged and he had a bad infection in one. So we took him to the ENT the next day, where he said his tubes were fine and no infection. He did think he needed to be on an antibiotic to clear up his upper respiratory infection. So he then started a Zpack on Wednesday. He started running a fever that lasted a few days. Friday his lymph nodes on his neck were really swollen so I took him back to the dr and they said it was just a virus and to let it run it's course. He started bruising really bad over the weekend and developed a rash that looked like blood under the skin. So after a week of not feeling well, this Wednesday we took him to a different doctor where they ran a lot of blood work. The doctor was very concerned about his blood counts and ordered us to pack our bags and head to Arkansas Children's Hospital in little rock. So we did just that. We got here Wednesday evening where they did even more labs, X-rays and ultrasounds. We learned on Thursday he has Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia High Risk. He had his surgery this morning to receive his port for chemo, a spinal tap where he received chemo as well, and tested his blood marrow. He is in recovery now. This is a long journey we are starting but Grayson has always been a fighter and we are trusting in God to help us through!
During this time, Grayson has been dis-enrolled from his daycare for the next 6-7 months, which means his mom, will most likely have to take leave from work to take care of him.
Grayson also has a little brother/sister on the way too!
Any help for Grayson and his family is appreciated! Even if it's just a prayer.
