Approximately 16 months ago, our parent led program came together to provide a venue for families with those affected by Autism to receive information, support and understanding. We wanted to make it very clear to the 81 families we serve that "They are not alone." We realized that the Support Group along with the H.O.P.E. Project was the beginning of something larger and our vision for a permanent resource center for Santa Cruz County became a dream. On January 9, 2015 this dream became a reality. The Santa Cruz Autism Support Group acquired our 501(c)3 status and became a Chapter under the Autism Society of America. The Chapter will be known as Autism Society of Southern Arizona – Santa Cruz. The Santa Cruz Autism Support Group (SCASG) will continue as one of the programs under the Autism Society of Southern Arizona – Santa Cruz along with H.O.P.E. Project (Helping Others with Public Expression which is an iPad gifting program for non-verbal individuals on the Autism Spectrum). The Autism Society of Southern Arizona – Santa Cruz will service all of Santa Cruz County as well as Southern & Western Pima County to include Sells and Ajo.
The Autism Society of Southern Arizona – Santa Cruz is committed to growing the services currently offered to binational residents living on the Autism Spectrum along the Arizona/Mexico border.
In order for us to continue with the programs we established and to develop other projects we have in the pipeline, we could use your support. Your gift will go a long way in helping us to achieve our goals of providing multiple services to the Autism community of Southern Arizona.
