I'm graduating! It only took 21 years! Well there was a huge break in there as well as some little ones and several moves, but the last few years I've given it my all. Powering through injuries that crippled my body and devastated by GPA for a year, opiate dependency, recovery and the intensified pain and exhaustion that still comes from that, I finally managed to reach the last week of undergrad.

Quite honestly I had not planned to make a fuss over graduating. I declined ordering announcements and am not "walking." I'm just ready and excited to have finally got here.

However, I've recently learned that I have an account balance with the university that I simply don't have the ability to take care of myself. I need this cleared up to get my diploma. I had some dental work done at the school clinic during the summer that was only billed to my account just recently. I had believed it was billed during summer and deducted from my financial aid in Sept. Things have been tight for some time as I'm only working part time to focus on school and I received about 1/3 of my usual financial aid this term as I hit my limit on undergraduate loans.

The balance is currently around $400 and will incur a $100 late fee on the 6th of each month. I set the goal higher than that as I have several other graduation related expenses ahead of me. Most pressing beyond this bill is my immediate need to begin full time work. It's time to ditch the part time restaurant job. I have some qualifications now, but I do not own interview or work clothes. So I need to buy some big girl clothes! I'm also still aiming to take the GRE and have only not registered for it due to lack of funds.

So any support would be awesome and put to good use.

Latest Update

Thanks to everyone that contributed, I was able to pay off my account balance with the university today! Man, that is such an awesome relief. Now on to bigger, better things! I return to campus tomorrow for the research study I'm assisting with. The pilot study in the Fall produced significant results and we are continuing with a large study this term. It will be weird being there as a non student! I have two shifts in the lab to work each week for the next 8 weeks. It's only a volunteer position, but it is a resume builder and I have been promised a strong letter of recommendation for my graduate school application as a reward for my time and effort. Thanks again, everyone!!

I haven't updated this in a bit... was trying to lay off begging for money during xmas! lol. Plus I've been busy hustling stuff on Ebay. Unfortunately I won't receive any of my Ebay money until mid January, after I have to get my school balance paid off. So any help at all that you can do would be fantastic. Even a few dollars helps. I'm trying really hard to avoid another $100 late fee on the 6th AND I want my diploma! Thanks!!

Grades were posted today! I was a little worried the financial hold on my acct would make me unavailable to view them. Glad to be wrong :)

I can't con't contribute much, but knowing debt suffocation as I do, I can only hope that this helps. Oh, & by the way, CONGRATS!

I'm now set up to receive credit card/debit card transactions via the site. Sorry for the confusion! I've also had people inquire how to send me donations directly to avoid the site deducting fees. If you desire to do that let me know and I'll send you the information. Thanks for viewing and considering gifting to me! I appreciate you all!

Ah, I guess using my personal paypal still charges a fee, but it is slightly less than the site fees.

I'm using this site because the fees are cheaper than Gofundme. However, it's sort of a pain in the butt to use. I had to set up a business Paypal account rather than using my personal one and I still need to confirm my bank info. (I don't know my routing number, I don't have a checkbook! so I have to call them tomorrow when I get home from my interview at the animal hospital.) So apparently until that info is confirmed I can't accept any credit card transactions. Just an fyi to anyone who is lurking or has tried to send me a gift! Thank you very much!
