Hello! We are fortunate enough to have acquired most of the big ticket items in preparation for little B's arrival. Baby stuff is irresistibly cute and we love it, too! But what we really need is help with an unexpected maternity leave for a self-employed, single-mama-starting-over-someplace-new household. Turns out a self-employed person can't take out a short-term disability policy if they are already pregnant! We didn't manage to coordinate giving birth in a socialist democratic nation, despite that being an attractive idea. We'd graciously accept any donation in lieu of or in addition to that too cute onesie.

Welcome to Earth! Levi Preston Bushnell Born 8/7/2018 at 10:34AM 8lbs 12oz 21.5in In true Leo style he made a grand entrance, fashionably late and in front of an audience! He even had a spotlight! It was the OR lights, but, y'know, all the world is a stage... I guess he just wanted to spring from my womb like an Eggo waffle instead of coming the rest of the way out as originally planned. All that breakdancing in the womb wound him up in the umbilical cord a bit (around his neck and foot) and he was coming down the pike posterior... aka 'sunny side up'. After an already long labor at home he wasn't tolerating all that squeezing so well and he wouldn't turn over. After 8 hours of post epidural labor everyone was exhausted and we'd tried all the things. He just couldn't duck his noggin under the pubic bone to make the rest of the journey without his heart rate plummeting, terrifying all of us. Cesarean to the rescue! He came out with a mighty Yawp! Healthy and alert. <3

Welcome little man! You are beautiful! 💕

Happy Solstice! We are one short month away from our due date! (which was also my mom's due date with me... wild) After tomorrow, little guy could come anytime and be healthy but I am strongly encouraging him to keep cooking a little while longer. Will he be a Cancer or a Leo??? Time will tell and it's not long now. I chose not to put a goal amount on the fund but I had one in mind... we are just shy of that goal by $69. That's huge! That's as huge as I feel right at the moment. Sincere thanks to everyone, again. We have everything we need and the birth workers are all paid. We have a little nest egg in place for the month we plan to stay home getting to know one another. We couldn't have done this without you. Much Love, Shannon & Little B.

Howdy! We are getting big and little B. is busy preparing for his debut. I have been overwhelmed by the support we have been receiving. We had a beautiful baby shower in Oregon and now probably have more stuffed animals than we need but they are all adorable. For those of you who already donated, THANK YOU! We raised enough to hire a doula which is very important to me as a single lady going it alone. We truly appreciate your kindness and support. Every little bit helps! XO
