Hi all! As part of my baby registry, I am also creating a PlumFund in case any friends or family would like to contribute to the cost of a post partum doula, who can help out with the baby after she is first born. Because I'm doing this on my own I've been thinking through how best to get the help I will need, and this is one way that I think might be useful! Post partum doulas often help with light housekeeping, infant care, running errands, and birth recovery.
According to the American Pregnancy Association, "The postpartum doula offers many services to her clients, but her main goals are to help “mother the mother” and nurture the entire family as they transition into life with a newborn. This would include doing things to help mom and dad feel more confident in their roles, sharing education on family adjustment, and tending to the unique needs of a new mother." More information can be found here: https://americanpregnancy.org/healthy-pregnancy/planning/postpartum-doula/.
Thank you!!
