Hello my beautiful Framily,
Lordy, Lordy look who’s Forty! That’s me (well on February 3rd anyway). I have thought and thought about what I wanted to do for this mighty year and I finally decided that I would love to go to Poland.
This trip is very important to me because I will finally be able to pay my respects to my dearly departed grandmother, Ligia Kopacz. She passed away in 2008 and no matter what I tried I was not able to make it to Poland to say goodbye. Baba (this is what we called her) and I had a very special and close relationship and I have been feeling incomplete since she passed. When I was a little girl, Baba would take me to the cemetery close to our house and we would clean off all of the headstones and pick wildflowers to decorate all of them. We would even feed this cat whose owner had died and was buried there. Although I didn’t quite understand why we did this for so many people that we did not know, it was very important to my grandmother and I followed along.
As a birthday wish I am asking you to help to send me to Poland (not necessarily for February, but rather in June/July). Even $5 can help! If you can’t help monetarily, then good wishes and good luck would be appreciated as well.
My trip to Poland would include myself and my daughter, Sasha. We will visit my Uncle Jurek in Krakow and my grandmother’s site in Czestochowa. And how can I visit Poland and not fill up on amber? Of course I will search for gorgeous pieces of Amber and upon my return will bless my wonderful Framily with gorgeous, handmade jewelry.
Thank you so much for being in my life and here’s to a blessed, healthy, and prosperous year!!!
