2020 Caring for the Caregivers
A Mother's Rest is a 501c3 non profit health initiative which provides sanctuaries of recuperative rest and therapeutic fellowship for parents & other caregivers who have loved ones with disabilities. We coordinate affordable, frequent respite opportunities nationwide, all year long. In only 3 1/2 years, AMR has served nearly (2000) of these families in need of mental and physical health support. CV19 and continuing lockdowns have created an unimaginable strain for many of these individuals. With a $25,000 MATCHING GRANT, AMR needs your help to raise an additional $25k to support our basic respite inn and program expenses.
Latest Update
We made our match for the extra $2000 donation, but we're still needing about $10,000 to meet the full $25k match. These funds not only keep the lights on, but they support property improvement projects in Maryland and Georgia such as additional bathrooms, new gutters, new roof, etc. It helps with grants to our Porch Partner retreats, and even supports NEW RESPITE INN PURCHASES. New matching grant! If we can reach the $12,000 mark by Christmas Day, another donor will add $2000 to our pot, getting us even closer to our Matching Grant! Please keep sharing!
