My family is returning to Xenacoj, Guatemala in January. It is on our hearts to provide wheelchairs to people who need them. People with disabilities are looked down upon, often bedridden and almost forgotten. We plan to completely fund ourselves for our trip but each wheelchair costs about $250 and the need is great. Imagine freeing a child from a one room existence by providing mobility in a bee-line wheelchair designed to grow with the child. This is life-changing. Please consider giving!

You can send a tax deductible contribution to Alliance Christian Center, memo: "Guatemalan Wheelchair Ministry” at Alliance Christian Center 670 W Main St, Alliance, OH 44601.

Latest Update

We will be returning to Guatemala in January. Our hope is to spend some time with local missions there, helping them market themselves better. We will also be providing as many wheelchairs as possible through Mission Impact. We will try to visit with some previous home builds to check-in and to do repairs or improvements as needed. I have posted a new plumfund campaign if you would like to help. The best way is to send the money directly to Alliance Christian Center (ACC; address on plumfund) so 100% goes to the wheelchairs. If you use credit card, plumfund/we pay has relatively low fees but they will take a small percentage. ACC will provide you a tax deductable receipt.

We just returned. Thanks to your support, we built a house for Magdalena, a single mom with 5 (teen/young adult) children. She has kept her kids in school and going to church for many years by herself. The boys all attend church and Magdalena helps teach Sunday School. Things have been tough for Magdalena. Like so many men in Guatemala, alcohol took her husband 15 yrs. ago. We provided a house with bunk beds, solar power, and a stove. They plan to pass along God’s love the way it has been shared with them. We also had a chance to minister in a variety of other ways. We visited families that need help, watched Darlene receive a way to communicate, put a new roof on and cleaned a men's alcohol rehab, bought food for the needy, installed solar power, and more. The need is great. We will keep working. One project is a vocational school (teach a man to fish). I'd be happy to share more & if you want to help (go, give, fundraise), let me know. Oh, and I can send more pix if you want ;)

I am so very grateful for the support of all of you in joining with me to create a community to support the people of Xenacoj, Guatemala in need of housing. I'm very excited to say that we have surpassed $5000. That is so awesome. $5000 means we are half way to my goal! If you are willing, join with me and share with your friends. I would really appreciate it. My goal was to house two families. At this point, we are able to put one family in need into a home of their own. Again, thank you so very much for your support! I will keep you updated when we travel in January regarding the families we help!
