Rebecca Atkins, Special Education Teacher and Julie Daher, Teacher Assistant are seeking funds to obtain Yoga Teacher Training Levels 1 & 2 with Asanas for Autism and Children with Special Needs. Rebecca and Julie work with their team of paraprofessionals at The Light House in Niantic, CT. The Light House is a private, state-approved special education school that addresses the social, emotional, behavioral, and academic needs of students ages 7 to 21 with significant intellectual and developmental differences. This training will help Rebecca and Julie bring the benefits of yoga, mindful breathing, and somatic movement to their classroom of diverse learners. This knowledge and training will be especially helpful in designing engaging and meaningful programs during this challenging time of the COVID-19 pandemic.
