Claire Stark, passed away October 21st, 2017. She was a wife, a daughter, a sister, an auntie, a friend and so much more. Claire suffered from a genetic liver condition, that eventually caused multiple organ failure. She fought for almost two weeks in Stanford Hospital’s ICU. Claire was a very private person and chose to keep her illness mostly to herself.
One part of Claire’s life that was not private, was how dedicated she was to her profession as a Physical Therapist Assistant. She provided highly skilled care, accompanied by unwavering compassion. She was kind, patient, warm, fair and had a strong desire to learn. Claire is sorely missed by her colleagues and by the many patients she touched with her great care.
Claire’s family, friends, and colleagues have come together to establish “The Claire Stark Memorial Scholarship”. It seems only fitting to contribute to a PT Assistant students education; Claire loved school, she loved learning and she loved sharing her knowledge. Our fund has been able to award three scholarships so far, and we are now equipped to award the scholarship on an annual basis, to a PT Assistant student who aspires to embody many of the same great qualities that Claire did. We are excited to get to know this years applicants! This is the very best way to honor Claire and to positively move into the future, while keeping her spirit alive.
In the words of her mother, Dana, “Claire’s greatest passion was compassion"
Please share this campaign with your friends and family. Thank you so much.
