The other week this sad girl, Brownie, was surrendered to us. She has a huge tumor that hangs from her, much of her fur is missing with sores on her body and her toenails are very unkept. Despite the neglect that Brownie has endured, she trusts us and is quick to cuddle. She has been seen by the wonderful staff at Compassion Animal Hospital. This girl has sarcoptic mange (which is highly contagious and can be fatal if not treated), a mammary gland tumor and bad teeth requiring dental surgery. Brownie has been a sweet girl though and has been tolerant of her medicated baths. They have helped tremendously with her open wounds and sores. We are building up her strength with lots of protein to prepare her for a biopsy and removal of her tumor.
We are so happy to report that we were able to rescue Brownie's 4-year-old son, Malcolm, as well! THERE ARE NO MORE ANIMALS AT RISK. The owner willingly surrendered all pets. Malcolm was terrified when he first came to the rescue but so relieved when he was reunited with his mom. Unfortunately, Malcolm also has sarcoptic mange and we've begun his treatment plan as well. The medical costs of these 2 neglected pups comes at a difficult time for the rescue. We've found out over the course of the past month that several of our current residents will need surgery and several new dogs were surrendered in February that require spays and neuters. The medical costs for these procedures will exceed $5,000. We are hoping in the next 30 days to raise enough funds to cover the costs. Please help us get these dogs the care they need. We can't help them without your support!
The estimates for Brownie & Malcolm's care will be around $2,000. Two dogs in our care, Sarah and Baby Bo, both require dental surgery, which combined, will cost around $1,000. Ninja needs to have a tumor removed and biopsied, which will run $900, and we have 4 new dogs in needing neutered & spayed which will cost roughly $1,100.
Without your support we cannot continue to help these dogs. Each one of them deserves a happy, safe and pain free life. Thank you!
