Latest Update

Some see our concert as just a concert, we see it as an opportunity to reach the ears and minds of native youth through music and conversation surrounding important issues around land rights and conservation efforts. This year, we will be hearing from Tonia Stands as she speaks on ecological threats facing the Black Hills and Oglala Aquifer by proposed mining operations in the heart of the Black Hills. Marla Bullbear, Executive Director of the Lakota Youth Development will also speak and with her will be a group of youth-entrepreneurs, Honey Lodge, from the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota. Honey Lodge is youth created/operated and is part of the Lakota Youth Development. Qwich'in Elder and activist, Sarah James, joins us from her home in Arctic Village, Alaska to speak about the importance of protecting the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge from oil exploration and drilling.
