I have always loved sports and dreamed of becoming a professional athlete. After committing to a childhood of junior tournament play and four years of elite-level collegiate competition representing the University of Notre Dame, I continue my ambition to be the best that I can be each day as I transition into professional tennis. I am grateful for everyone who has supported me along this path, and I am beyond excited for the journey that lies ahead.

Professional tennis requires a great deal of commitment, and prize money won from tournaments in the early part of my career is not enough to cover all of the expenses. In order to fund travel, lodging, food, and equipment, I am reaching out to you. If you are excited and able to contribute to this Plumfund, you can be part of the team that makes this life-long dream a reality!

For updates on where I am in the world and how I am progressing as a professional athlete, you can follow me on Facebook, Twitter (@joshhagar), Instagram (@joshhagar223), and this Plumfund page.

Hello! I hope everyone has had a wonderful holiday season, and your new year is off to a great start! I am writing to you from sunny southern California, where I am playing my first event of 2018 - a $25K tournament in Long Beach. From here, I will head back home to Austin for a couple weeks to train before going to Switzerland to play two $25K events in February! I am excited to compete again after finishing 2017 with my best tournament of the year. I hope to use that momentum and have a great start to 2018. As always, your support is greatly appreciated. Without your help, I would not be able to pursue the dream I am living!

I just completed my last tournament of 2017 in Tallahassee, Florida where I made my first pro singles quarterfinal! This result puts my ranking in a great position to start the 2018 season, and I could not be more excited to train this offseason and have a great beginning to the new year. My next events will be two $25K tournaments in California this January. Thank you so much for your continued support of my professional tennis journey. I hope you have a great holiday season!

I’d like to thank everyone who has helped and supported me with training in Austin the past month. I’ve had a great past four weeks resting, training, and preparing for my next block of tournaments. I’m currently in Campeche, Mexico, playing one event. Then I will be coming back to Texas to play a tournament the week after Thanksgiving at Baylor! I’m excited to see what the end of the year has in store! To keep up with my results, follow my social media pages @joshhagar223 on Instagram and @JoshHagar on Twitter. As always, your generosity is greatly appreciated in helping keep my dream a reality. Thank you all!

Hello! After two months in Europe, I'm back in the US! The 8-week trip included 6 tournaments in Ireland, Portugal, Switzerland, and Italy, leaving me with unforgettable experiences. After taking Europe by plane, train, automobile, and even boat, this first trip as a pro tennis player was all I could have asked for and more. In addition to seeing some amazing places, I am happy to say that I am returning home with more ATP points! It's a step in the right direction on the long journey of being a successful professional. I am coming home more experienced and very eager to continue to improve. I'll be in South Bend on the campus of my alma mater for the next few weeks training with my coaches there, working on elements of my game we see should improve, and preparing for my next set of tournaments beginning at the end of the month. Thank you for your support of me and my professional career. It wouldn't be possible without you!

Hello! After two weeks in Ireland and two weeks in Portugal, I’m on the final leg of my European tour! I’m currently in the Geneva area of Switzerland, and after this, I head south to the northern part of Italy for my last event. The transition from the quick, carpet courts in Dublin to the slow, dry, red clay courts of Portugal was quite drastic, but I’ve learned a lot and have gotten my bearings. This week in Switzerland is a great opportunity where I really hope to do well. The courts here hold a lot more water than the ones in Portugal, which make for more consistent bounces, something I’m looking forward to. I register this afternoon and will know later tonight whether I play Saturday or Sunday; I could play tomorrow, but I expect to play Sunday. Below I’ve pasted the link to follow my results, the order of play, and live scores starting Tuesday. Thanks so much for your support! http://www.itftennis.com/procircuit/tournaments/men's-tournament/info.aspx?tournamentid=1100040600

Hi, Friends! I am currently writing from the Dublin airport where I am waiting for a flight to Porto, Portugal for my next event - a $25,000 tournament on clay! I'm very excited to get back on red clay, as I have not played on it in about 5 years. These past two weeks in Dublin were a great experience, and I'm happy to say that the wins I had here have earned me ATP singles points! Come Monday when the new ranking list is published, I will officially be ranked in both singles and doubles. Thank you for your contributions. Your support keeps the dream alive! J

Thank you for your support! I just completed two weeks of tournaments in Canada where I played some great matches, highlighted by a semifinal appearance in doubles during the second tournament — my first ATP doubles points! That result positions me to make the doubles cut in just about every tournament I play from now through my next trip, which I leave for this Tuesday. I am going to Dublin, Ireland, where I will be for two weeks playing tournaments before going to Europe mainland for another 4-5 tournaments. Given the nature of entry-level professional tennis, you don’t always know exactly where you will play until a week or two beforehand, so I cannot say for sure where I will be after Dublin. That said, my best guess as to where I will play is Belgium, Spain, Portugal, or Germany. The entire Europe trip will last about 7 weeks, and I cannot thank you enough for your support. Thank you, again, and stay tuned for another update after Dublin! JH
