Started by: Girl Scouts - North Carolina Coastal Pines
In the days since Hurricane Florence and the devasting floods that followed, we have learned of several members of Girl Scouts – North Carolina Coastal Pines’ staff that were affected by the storm. Reports of water in homes, trees on roofs, extended periods without power, flooded cars, and having to find temporary housing are just a few of the challenges our impacted colleagues are facing.
While many of us were spared, there are those among us that were not. On their behalf, a Sisterhood Fund has been established by the council to help our co-workers as they juggle the challenges of returning to work while recovering from the damages they have sustained. While this fund will not replace the role of personal insurance and/or state or federal assistance (where available), it can help with immediate out-of-pocket expenses such as storage units, groceries, replacing needed supplies, etc. For those who wish to support our affected colleagues, please consider a donation to the Sisterhood Fund to soften the impact of the storm on them and assist in their recovery during this difficult time.*
*In accordance with IRS regulations these contributions are not tax-deductible.
