Make Your Own!
Started by: Melanie Smith
In the past several months at Craig Hospital, one of the most beneficial therapies Steve has engaged in has been the time he’s spent on an FES bike (Functional Electrical Stimulation).
While Steve is not yet able to pedal on his own, the FES bike facilitates the muscle contraction and activity for him - keeping his legs STRONG and allowing his body to engage in much needed exercise. Steve seems most content and most alert while on the FES bike!
With your help, we plan to purchase one of these bikes for Steve’s continued therapy at home, here in California!
Lori stated that traveling with Steve in the car is a huge task and incredibly stressful. Having this bike in their own home will eliminate travel and he can do it daily!
The entry level for this type of therapy bike is over $10,000. Any amount of donation that exceeds the purchase price of the FES bike, will go toward a standing frame!
Saturday, December 16th Shoreline Church is hosting an amazing concert "A Christmas Together" to raise money for Steve's bike! If you live local, please join us. Starts at 7pm; doors open at 6pm. We will have food trucks and 10% of the food trucks profit will go towards Steve! Please come early to get food before the show.
