On Saturday, March 24, 2018, Jordan Washington will be presented to society as a Beau at the 2018 Young, Gifted and Black Ball sponsored by Jack and Jill of America, Inc., Montgomery County Maryland Chapter. This journey and program centered on leadership, community service, social activity and etiquette preparation is designed to prepare him to lead and serve in the community. Most importantly, this fundraiser supports two worthy 501c3 charitable organizations, The Jack and Jill Foundation and Stepping Stone Shelter, through the purchase of advertisements in the Souvenir Journal to be presented at the Ball and tickets to the event.
Jordan is an International Baccallaureate program high school senior currently accepted for admission to Hampton University. He is Drum Major of his high school marching band, an Eagle Scout, Teen President of his Jack and Jill Teen group, and the sole proprietor of DJ Deadly Jordan (deejay services). He plans to major in Business Management with a minor in Music Technology, and continue to pursue a law degree.
The Gamma Theta Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated has meant much to this family, with Jordan's mother having been initiated at Hampton in Spring 1990, and his grandmother in Spring 1956. His grandfather was also Hampton alumni and a Gamma Iota initiate of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.
Your generosity through many small gifts will allow for a full page ad to celebrate Gamma Theta and congratulate Jordan. The goal is to submit funds for this ad in time for the first collection scheduled for November 11, 2017. A second collection is scheduled for January 2018 if this goal is not reached by the first deadline.
