The judge awarded custody of my son to his father in September 2015.

When my son refused this arrangement, the judge gave full custody of my ten-year-old daughter to their father tearing her away from me (her mother) and from her brother. This happened in February 2016.

We filed for an Ex Parte/Rule Nisi on March 24 (see update).

So, I'm asking. Please help our family get justice. Please help put my children back together again.

Latest Update

Dear Ones, This campaign is closing. I wanted to write how thankful I am for your help and also to give a final update. Ultimately, the ex parte was "dismissed" by the judge. Zoey returned to her dad a week after he was released from the hospital. Eddard is still with us full-time and refuses to see his father. My lawyer was kind enough to take the half payment as payment in full. Her father and I are co-parenting much better after his stroke. Zoey has connected with her half-sister, Jill, who lives in Northern California. Zoey and I are coming for a week in So. California in October for my mother's 80th birthday. My wonderful sister, Solly, financed our United Airline tickets. Ed let me take her for this as well even though his birthday is only two days after my mother's. Again thank you so much for your kind/loving thoughts and financial/emotional support during this very difficult time. I couldn't have made it without any of you. Lovingly, Dolcelyn "Dulce"

Zoey's dad was hospitalized for three weeks starting on March 20. We filed for an Ex Parte that Friday. The filing cost $2,510 that we are still making payments on. My lawyer accepted half of it to get the motion filed. $1255 was our April rent. We were already behind on all of our bills. It will take us months to recover from this, but we had no choice. He was able to come home on April 10. We were so relieved that he did not perish. Zoey, of course, stayed with us this whole time. We had court on April 19 to determine who will have custody of her. Please pray for wisdom for the judge to rule on what is in her best interest.

Updates and edits. Thank you for all who responded to Jimmy's post.

Just last week we revisited what happened. We cried. Her dad is having a 5th ablation next month. So it is a waiting game. But I wanted to post this link here-- http://www.selegal.org/Self-Help/Booklets/INSTAGUIDE%20TO%20FAMILY%20LAW.pdf

Since I still don't have the adequate funds to proceed with the lawyer in Georgia I will file a custody modification in pro per in TN. Here are the steps according to Legal Zoom: Step 1 Draft a petition to modify custody. Your county clerk will typically have blank pre-printed forms you may use. Step 2 Serve the papers on your former spouse. Step 3 Attend a threshold hearing. This hearing is for the sole purpose of determining whether there has been a material change in circumstances since the existing custody order was established. Step 4 Attend the final hearing, if held separate from threshold hearing.

This is a picture of my son with the therapy dog at St. Louis Children's Hospital in Missouri. He had a Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy performed by Dr. Park and it has done miracles. It has dramatically decreased the spasticity on the right side of his body--it has removed his limp and he can now cross his legs. I also learned the spasticity causes him pain as he gets older. The procedure will decrease this as well. We are going back there in January for his four month follow-up. He is also going to undergo PERC lengthening this month in Emory.

We have been able to have Zoey all this week because her dad was admitted to the hospital. We are so thankful that we get to have this time with her but there's a lot of ambivalence because of course she wants her dad to be okay. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.
