Be a part of Maggie and Ryder's unfolding story w/universal themes of reconciliation & redemption in the midst of impossible circumstances. For 9 years, I've been working on this novel I'm calling "Reach, Touch Light," and am at the point where I need more help. Rather than a $40,000 MFA program, I've decided to work with editor, Laura Munson, NY Times best-selling author, and to attend her intensive writing retreat. I am in awe. My project (Writing Retreat for my novel, "Reach Touch Light") has been fully funded - through PlumFund donations as well as donations made directly to Haven Retreats. I cannot thank each of you enough - for your good thoughts, prayerful support, inspiration, phone calls, emails, financial support and cheers from all over the world. I never imagined this dream and goal would be so wholeheartedly supported from every possible direction. You all inspire me and lift me up. THANK YOU WITH ALL MY HEART. Now it's time to write this book! :D

Love is truly great! Yesterday I was with 9 of my favorite teenagers and a few of my amazing colleagues from The Link School (where I work full-time as the Residential Head), on a fieldtrip to TEDx Mile High in Denver, CO. The theme was wonder: wonder as in "I wonder what..." as well as the meaning of the word that refers to a sense of incredible awe. And boy, were we filled with wonder and lots of wondering! When I got home at 11pm, I was bowled over by donations on this site and through PayPal on my personal email. While I explored big ideas with wonderful thinkers, was challenged by tragic stories, and buoyed by the hope that is humanity - people were contributing to my passion project. This was a beautiful ending to a most magical day! Tonight, I cannot go to bed without another thank you. With contributions from as far away as St. Louis, Sonoma County, Vermont and Australia, we have reached a new level of cool: nearly $1500! Feeling so blessed and beyond grateful! Thank you!

I write this update with a heart that is absolutely overflowing! With more than 17 supporters and over 70 shares of my PlumFund page, and more messages of love and "Go get 'em!", I am on fire! You all have given nearly $1000 of your hard earned pennies and that is no small thing! Especially when there is so much to financially contribute to these days! I want you all to know my writing has felt more purposeful than ever. And again, I just don't have enough words to express my gratitude for all your support! Thanks FB family for another amazing day of fundraising!

WOWZERS! You all really know how to make a girl feel believed in and loved! Without hesitation, each of you jumped on board. In hardly more than 24 hours, we have raised nearly 1/6 of the amount needed! I'm deeply touched and look forward to having you along for the journey.
