World renowned Chef and chocolatier(“Chef Ken”) Wilkinson

in January 11, 2016, fell from an A frame ladder in our garage causing a concussion, fractured face and broken ribs which resulted in a severe brain injury and underwent immediate surgery. We were in an institution for 14 months and in 6 different cities until he was finally released 4/1/17. My beloved father and Ken’s father-in-law passed away one month and 11 days after my husband’s Injury. My dad was 20 years retired Navy man and was a disabled VETERAN . I made the choice to move my husband to my hometown of Waco, TX and we live in my mothers home which is handicapped accessible until we can get our own home so my husband can function on a daily basis. He has gone through years of therapy achieving a partial recovery. I’ve spoken to a TBI survivor Paul G Bosworth of the Brain injury Advisory Council who has had incredible results from Hyperbaric therapy. Chef Ken would need 50 session or more at a cost of $150-170 per session, not including private caregivers and supplies etc for his daily care to continue getting him better. We hope his colleagues in the culinary world, fans, friends and wonderful community will help us by donating to get him the continued healing and give him every opportunity he needs to be successful in this TBI journey. There is no specific time frame or prognosis for a brain injury warrior/survivor with their recovery. It has been 31 months thus far and we are told it could take many more years to recover. We have faith in god that he will be back physically and mentally to function in the world he was used to and loved.

Ken and his wife Jacqueline need your financial support as Ken will once again need to employ the willpower and determination he used to earn his incredible career as an phenomenal Chef and world class Chocolatier as he open Cocoamoda Chocolates Boutique in September of 2008 in the little town of Calvert, TX. His wife is continuing his legacy and running the gourmet chocolate business on her own in Waco, TX. Chef Ken was been written about in over 100 articles including making the front page of the New York Times. Ken works hard every day to gain back his strength and ability to perform the everyday tasks we all take for GRANTED.

Please consider donating to Chef Ken and his wife Jacqueline as they continue this new journey together. #teamchefken #tbiawareness #tbiwarrior #trueloveconquersall #havingfaithingodsplan

Just a small portion of this wonderful article about HBOT. So Israeli scientists did the next best thing - cross-over studies. Patients were divided into two groups: a trial group received HBOT; a control group received no treatment. After being closely monitored for 8 weeks, the trial group receiving HBOT was seen to make significant improvements, whereas the control group did not. Then the control group was also treated with HBOT and seen to make the same improvements as had the trial group, including functional gains measured by standardized tests of cognition and quality of life. SPECT scans showed greatly increased blood profusion in injured regions of the brain, averaging 40%. Analyses of scans were done blind to enhance reliability. Further laboratory studies also gave evidence of elevated brain activity, reduced inflammation, release of genes involved in healing, and increased production of neural stem cells. https://www.brainline.org/story/time-right-alternative-therapies?fb

He got his hearing checked a Baylor today. We will redo the test on November 3rd. As he had a hard time understanding and remembering to complicate when he heard the beeps due to his Aphasia that affects short term memory loss. Hyperbaric therapy would really help with this .

Coming together is the beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success. Chef Ken opened Cocoamoda in September of 2008. I’m truly honored to be a part of an amazing chocolates business with my husband and we continue to grow and have changed over the past decade. We are so blessed for the hundreds of wonderful write ups that we’ve had over the years and for the television opportunities on the Cooking Channel, Food Network, State of Texas bucket List, local news stations in the Central Texas area and so much more. Thank you all for the incredible love and support of local the community areas as well as people traveling from all over the world to have our incredible chocolate. We are truly humble and blessed to continue putting smiles on your faces with our are incredible chocolate confections for many more years to come.
