On June 9, 2021, Jackie’s world turned upside-down when she learned that a suspicious lump in her breast was a malignant tumor. On August 5, she underwent a successful surgery to remove the cancer. Pathology and lab results revealed that the cancer had become invasive, and on September 1, she found that she is at high risk of metastatic reoccurrence. She now has a small window of opportunity to fight the cancer with aggressive treatment which means facing a host of daunting side effects that will affect her quality and potentially length of life. This fund has been created with Jackie’s permission to update loved ones and help cover some unforeseen financial challenges during the year ahead. If you are not able to support monetarily, thoughts of love and healing are equally important. Please feel welcome to send positive and uplifting energy her way by posting a message or video here https://www.facebook.com/Jackies-Angels-104202565344596/

In love and gratitude,

Kellen & Jackie

Latest Update

Thank you for your support through Jackie’s survivor journey. Your generosity and love have helped carry her through the fight of her life. We are glad to announce that Jackie has completed her chemotherapy treatments and is recovering well. Jackie suffered extreme side effects from an aggressive chemo regimen, and became severely immunocompromised in the peak of the omicron variant. Her immunity is getting stronger every day, and she was recently able to safely reunite with her family! Jackie is now focused on restoring mind, body, and spirit as she prepares for the next challenge. She will undergo reconstructive surgery on March 18, and will then continue with the next phase of treatment. Together, chemotherapy and long-term hormone therapy reduce the risk of metastatic reoccurrence by 80%. Jackie is hopeful that she has many years and experiences ahead of her. Your support has sustained her and we send gratitude and hugs for all your thoughts, donations, and love.

Hello all. We are halfway through a big week of two surgeries! Jackie completed the fertility preservation process on Wednesday, which was a smooth and successful procedure. Thank you for keeping her in your hearts as she crosses these milestones. She wants you to know that reading your messages has been a profound source of strength and comfort. On Friday, Jackie will have her port surgery. Her chemotherapy medications will be delivered directly into the port during infusions, eliminating the need for needle sticks. Following port surgery, we will be completing training for cold capping, a scalp cooling treatment that could help minimize hair loss caused by an aggressive chemo regimen. Leading up to Jackie’s first day of chemotherapy, she will be in the care of wellness professionals who will help prepare her mind, body, and spirit for infusions. Thank you for respecting Jackie’s privacy during this sensitive and busy time. We are so grateful for all your love and healing vibes.

Love and a big hug to you, Jackie. Ian

Jackie is so moved by the wave of generosity. It brings her such comfort and hope. She is endlessly grateful and thanks every one of you from the bottom of her heart. She is healing well from surgery and preparing to take on the beast that is chemotherapy. She has chosen to be outspoken about her experience to raise awareness and stand in solidarity with others impacted by this disease. Since fertility loss is a risk of aggressive treatment, Jackie is doing everything in her (and science's) power to preserve her choice for the future. Following the fertility preservation process, Jackie will begin chemotherapy treatments on October 7 for a total of 4-5 months. She has been thrust inside a whirlwind of hospital visits, tests, procedures, and doctor appointments in order to begin chemo asap. Although she is unable to respond to everyone individually, she wants you to know how loved and cared for she feels. Thank you for being a part of this journey. Together, we rise!
