Courtney is dedicated to helping others as a mom of two girls, and as a psychiatric registered nurse at a crisis center. Now, it is her turn to ask for help. In May, after a whirlwind of diagnostics and two visits to the Dana Farber Cancer Center in Boston, she was diagnosed with osteosarcoma (bone cancer). Courtney completed an initial 3 month regimen of chemotherapy, and recently underwent major surgery in Boston where she is temporarily recovering. The next step is additional rounds of chemotherapy over the coming months.
Donated funds would be used to help with travel and household expenses, as well as medical bills. Courtney has missed a lot of work since June, and the struggle to stay solvent is becoming more difficult. She was also in the midst of obtaining her Masters degree in nursing, which had to be put on hold, but student loans still must be paid.
Courtney's girls are involved in after school sports, and the hope is to keep things as normal as possible by continuing these activities as well. Her oldest daughter is an avid tennis player in the USTA junior league, while her youngest loves to boulder at the local climbing gym.
Courtney is a strong, brave, and determined young woman whose life has been temporarily derailed following the diagnosis. She needs some financial help to support her and her family as she works hard to beat this cancer.
