This all started with medical expenses, years ago. Insurance deductibles, medications, lost time at work, unforeseen logistical nightmares. Now I've been out of work for over two years and Wells Fargo is about to take our home.

*** This page is for tracking our donations. You can find the WHOLE story at https://saveourhome.blog ***

My wife and I are introverts. We haven't got many friends. We're not involved in a church community. I'm estranged from most of my family, and hers can only help so much. We have no support network that can help us with a problem this big.

We need A LOT of people we can reach online, who don't know us, but care enough to help us anyway. Are you one?

We just need 43,000 people to donate an average of $5 and our daughters will be safe in our home for good, even if something even more were to happen to me. Have you got $5? Do you want to help somebody save their home? Please help if you can!

And please, success DEPENDS on this campaign going mini-viral, so PLEASE share!!!!!!! Thank you!

Latest Update

Mark found work!! The fundraiser is no longer necessary to keep us out of foreclosure! Contributions are no longer necessary, but thank all of you so much for all of your support! We'd have lost this place for sure without you. It's because of you that we had the time to work for this outcome. Plumfund seems a little weird about closing a fundraiser, so I'm working on that right now, but wanted to send out this final update to everyone. Thank you all so much! We wouldn't be here without you. - Mark, Chris, Sarah, Izzy, and all of the rescues

Hi everybody! It's been awhile since I've updated here or the blog again. I'll be doing another update on the blog in the next day or two. It's a big one! With 35 days to Christmas, we're picking up momentum again thanks to all of you! I've had a really hard time keeping up on thanking everyone individually, but please know that we are so grateful for all of you!! We've got a ways to go but I think with a Christmas miracle, this home and our family can be saved. We've got some fantastic people helping us to build momentum this Christmas and we really think this can happen. Caroline Moss, you've been a godsend! Thank you so much. Caroline and her friends got our fundraiser in front of a huge network of generous people on Twitter and raised an astonishing amount early in October. The actress who plays Anna in Frozen ON BROADWAY shared our fundraiser and offered her help! Caroline's doing, I'm pretty sure! Thanks to all, and please keep sharing if you can! Happy Holidays!!

Good morning everybody and happy Monday! I had intended to send out an update on Sunday night but I've been flat out trying to spread the fundraiser and catch up on individual "thank you" emails. If you haven't received a thank you note yet, I promise I'm getting to you! I also don't want to be spamming everyone every day, so I'll try to stick to a schedule after this. I just wanted to let everyone know that we've raised over $3,000 in a week so far, and that's tremendous! Our goal is aggressive, but I honestly think that our only hurdle is reaching people. We just need 42,372 more people who can spare $5 and a few minutes. I think we can find them. Thank you all so much for contributing your money and your time to supporting our family. We can never thank you enough. More updates on how things are going here will be posted at https://saveourhome.blog Have a great week! - Mark, Chris, Sarah, Izzy, and all of the rescues

Hello everybody and I hope everyone is having a good weekend, especially those of you who have to work anyway. I'm going to have a much better update later this weekend but I wanted to drop this quick note and THANK ALL OF YOU for your support and donations. I'm behind on individual thank you notes and I'm really sorry about that. I hope to get caught up tonight or tomorrow. Thank you all SO MUCH, we can't possibly express how grateful we are to everyone who has been willing to help. I just want to ask for one more thing: PLEASE keep sharing our fundraiser if you can. Twitter, Facebook, Mastodon, Instagram... wherever you are and wherever you don't mind sharing, it's REALLY IMPORTANT to keep this spreading so that we don't stall out on the way to our goal. I wouldn't ask for more, except that my girls and I really do need your help, as our reach is only so far by ourselves. We've come a long way, and we just need the equivalent of 42,436 more donations of $5 to make it. - Mark

Hello everybody! The support in just the first day and a half has been absolutely unbelievable! Thank you all so much! I've posted an update on our main fundraiser site. It's a little out of date on the total now because we got a flurry of donations this evening, but here it is nonetheless: https://saveourhome.blog/2018/09/13/day-one-more-or-less/ Thank you all so much!!! And please, the key to our fundraiser succeeding is that people help us share it. We can't reach 43,000 people for $5 donations without your help. We've got 42,548 left to go! Please, please share our main fundraiser site at https://saveourhome.blog if you can. We'll be extremely grateful. I'm optimistic that we can reach our goal and that my daughters will never have to worry about a place to live again. Sincerely, - Mark (and Chris, Sarah, Izzy, and all of the rescues)

I've just sent out 33 individual thank you emails. If I've missed you, please let me know and I'm sorry! If this campaign gets as popular as we need it to be, I'm not sure how I'll keep up with this, but I will sure try! Thank you all so much! Our first day is a success! Tonight, I'm working at writing out our complete story at http://saveourhome.blog so that we'll have a bit more robust campaign page to send people to. At that point, I'll really need as many people as possible to share our campaign as much as possible. Asking people for $5 each seems to be a great way to raise funds! But we need 43,000 people to do it and that means that about a million people need to see it. We'll be counting on you to help spread the word if you can! Thank you all so much, - Mark (and Chris, Sarah, Izzy, and all of the rescues)
