Today is Stephen's Birthday. He would have been 47 years old. Two days ago he received a Legendary Athletic Award for Track and Field at his St. John's high school. Amazing that 30 years later he is still awarded for his amazing athletic abilities, perseverance, and strength.
I thought today would be a good day to try and raise money in his honor. Your contributions will support Stephen's 10 yr. old daughter, Oona.
Stephen passed away August 26, 2015, in his sleep after a truly brave battle. He was a great father and Oona was his pride and joy. Stephen faced his greatest challenge at 46 years old. He had Glioblastoma Multiforme, the most common and most fatal form of brain cancer. This aggressive cancer came 6 1/2 weeks after his brain tumor surgery in January of 2015. It came back in the form of many small, stage 4 cancer tumors in the frontal left lobe of his brain. He overcame many tough weeks of aggressive treatments. The chemo took a big toll on his body's strength and the radiation left him almost blind and hard of hearing and unable to write or communicate well. His wife and 10 yr. old daughter did all they could. The prognosis for this cancer remains devastating.
ANY donation towards Stephen is a true gift in support of a fund (Jeff Golub, Trustee) for Stephen's 10 year old daughter, Oona. I want to help give Oona what Stephen would have wanted her to have. Thank you!
