Hi loves! It's me StaHr. Thanks for stopping by and supporting me. As many of you know, I'm a music major with a minor in psychology, pursuing my dream of becoming [drum roll please] "Dr. StaHr-- The Music Psychotherapist".
Often times I'm asked, "Um, what is music therapy exactly?" Well, have you ever been in a horrible mood, threw on a tune and instantly began to feel better? That's the healing power of MUSIC! A music therapist is a health professional who practices clinical based therapy in a therapeutic client relationship, using supportive science in forms of music for physical, emotional, cognitive and social needs.
Music is my life! I need it... I breathe it... I celebrate it! After the devastating illness of my mother, [a music legend] my world changed. She suffered a stroke and fell into a nine day coma, resulting in a new life that has robbed her of her memory, personality and health; leaving her with the inability to care for herself. I've spent 15 years researching the power of spiritual healing in terms of faith and music, as opposed to conventional medicine that only gives false hope and ensures complications due to side effects.
I'm preparing for my study abroad semester in Italy at the University of Siena. Your support ensures that an honor student with a passion for success can continue her education in music. Contributions are used for expenses associated with foreign studies including international tuition and fees, student housing, meals and technology equipment.
