Androgyny would like to be a company based on the idea that people should feel empowered to express themselves in whatever way they choose. Often people are told what to think, how to act, and how to dress in order to fit within a preset mold. We at Androgyny challenge this idea. You are an individual, with your own set of dreams, desires, and identity. With this come as you are approach, we recognize that clothing should not be about what clothing is for your gender, but rather what it can be for your gender identity. Women are able to dress masculine and still look fashionable. Men are able to dress feminine and still be considered "manly". At Androgyny we are excited to go on this fashion journey and be able to give everyone an option for their own personal tastes.
Androgyny is very much a from the ground up business. Having just begun, we understand their will be many changes as our revenue increases with time. For now, the primary focus will be on offering wearable products from artists throughout the county. These will be unique designs on a wide assortment of items such as T-shirts, pants, and accessories. As time goes on, we will expend into fashion consulting and with luck into having our own fashion line/store.
All that is needed is $300 dollars for the purchase of a business license through Washington State. We have already purchased a domain name and are currently in the process of creating our website. An under construction version of the website may be viewed at www.androgynyonline.com . Furthermore we also have a supplier for our first line of products. These are self-funded and will increase in diversity with revenue.
Any contributors are greatly thanked for their contribution and any amount over our goal will be donated to the Human Rights Campaign (Working for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Equal Rights). If you wish to have your percentage that is over donated to another non-religious charity, please let me know and I will accommodate this request. We would like to have the website fully operational by the end of next month (November 2015).
