With your help, we are creating an artificial reef constructed from the historic Dome Homes on Cape Romano. These Homes were built by an inventor on a pristine barrier island near Marco Island, Florida and were completely sustainable with solar panels and a water cistern.
For a decade, they have been drifting toward the Gulf of Mexico and we want to assist them to their final destination where they belong.
This will become a national dive reef in Collier County, Florida for all to come and explore and you can swim right through the front door!
The world needs more reefs; the fish and crustaceans are craving them. This new habitat will provide the opportunity for sponges, corals, crabs, and a myriad of other aquatic organisms to become established. This will, in turn, attract fish from all over the area and create a unique water environment that divers, fishermen, and all other outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy.
The reef will be named for the nonprofit, 'Oceans for Youth Foundation.' Their mission statement is: To promote awareness, understanding, and appreciation for the marine environment. The organization now has over 5,000 volunteers across the country.
It is important that we inspire our future generation to care about our water and all that lives below. We thank you for your contribution to make this reef a reality!
