Almost a clinical psychologist!
Dear Family and Friends,
After four dynamic years at the University of Virginia, I am headed to Boston, MA in August 2021 to complete the final year of my doctoral program in clinical psychology. In Boston, I will be a clinical intern at the Boston University Medical Center, Center for Multicultural Training in Psychology.
As I approach this next and final stage of my doctoral journey to becoming a clinical psychologist, the support of my village remains paramount. During my internship year, I will be living on a very modest stipend while training in a major and (very expensive) city. Thus, I am graciously hoping to receive financial assistance with my relocation and adjustment to Boston.
Excitedly, I am also planning to defend my doctoral dissertation before my big move to Boston in early to mid-July. My work focuses on understanding how strong bonds with parental and non-parental important adults can promote positive well-being for Black adolescents.
