Greetings,
Makeda will be attending Laney College for two years, and then to study abroad in West Africa, at the University of Ghana, with a major in Business and Music Engineering. We are thrilled and so very blessed. She is so excited about this next phase of her life!
She has been awarded a Pell Grant to cover the bulk of her tuition expenses which is a huge help! But we are in the process of pursuing additional scholarship opportunities to offset other costs and fees needed for college.
For Makeda's graduation gift, we would like for you to please assist us in purchasing a Apple MacBook Pro, (which Makeda will use for college in addition to creating new music), and a round trip airline ticket to Colombia for Makeda to spend two weeks this summer! She has been interested in traveling to South America and Africa, and this will be a memorable and rewarding experience for her. She could also use a nice break before beginning college.
Many of you will never know how your actions have touched the life of a child in a positive way (and in turn, the lives of the people who love that child). Please know you are appreciated and loved. There were many of you who helped us along the way, who've loved our girl, taught her, encouraged, and inspired her.
