Mid December, Brian Bourgal needed to be hospitalized due to his failing heart. He spent the holidays with his family and loved ones at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. It was a long and trying four weeks, but the doctors and hospital staff did an indescribably amazing job taking care of not only him, but his family for the time he was there. He powered through many procedures which ultimately led to his long anticipated, successful heart transplant! Brian can now begin recovery, which will require the continued love and support from his family and friends.
Insurance will cover most of the costs from his surgery and hospital stay, but of course it won't cover everything. There are also the non-medical related costs associated with his recovery. This page was created to help the Bourgal family with covering expenses such as travel, food, and anything else they need while helping Brian fully recover. Brian and his family have been through so much in such a short amount of time. Any support, big or small, would surely be a tremendous help.
