Started by: Isabella Joy Clark
Hey Y'all! Isabella Clark has lived and worked in Asheville for 6 yrs. and as many of you know they have experienced compounding hardships as a result of chronic illness, lack of affordable healthcare, and chronic grief & stress from loss and discrimination. Isabella is currently experiencing several teeth decaying rapidly, cavity and cracking of important teeth via periodontal disease, as a result of genetics and the ever present income inequality gap. They are asking for direct community support/reparations/financial assistance to address these issues. They have experienced multiple dental and medical crises over the past 5 years and have learned their late father dealt with periodontal disease for the majority of his adult life. The repairs, cleanings, tooth-build up, and crown/veneer/bridge work totals $4,237.90 after insurance; for extensive work on all 12 of the affected teeth this is as "cheap" as it gets, at least in America. Isabella's current dental insurance runs out after they turn 26(benefits officially end on 12/31/2022), and they don't have any savings from which they can pull, or credit in which to acquire a loan. This is a life prolonging effort, dental care IS health care and getting this done would ultimately allow them to move forward and pursue/return to school to finish their BSW. Financially this is a big rock that has tied them down from moving forward to build credit, go to the gastroenterologist, fix their vehicle, and finish their degree. They are reaching out to their community to share & boost this call to action with your family/friends/colleagues, and to consider donating or sending funds directly! The estimated cost & paperwork will be attached below for transparency, and any/all funds donated will be public. Feel free to reach out if you have any ideas or questions, they are open to any support applicable to this situation. Thanks for reading this far, blessings to all!
