A little over nine years ago I made the worst mistake of my life when I decided to go forward with breast augmentation (getting breast implants). Ever since my health has progressively declined. It first began with restless sleep, brain fog, body aches, and palpitations followed by episodes of shortness of breath. I brushed it off assuming that it may have all been due to high stress, lack of sleep, and poor diet (as most assume). However, despite my dietary improvements and overall healthy lifestyle my health continued to decline. I started experiencing systemic inflammation, pain in my joints, memory loss, chronic fatigue, breast pain, weight gain, hair thinning, and the list goes on. After years of extensive testing, meds, physical therapy, and research, my doctor and I finally came to the conclusion that I may indeed be possibly suffering from Breast Implant Illness (it’s not yet an official term for diagnosis within the system so they cannot legally diagnose anyone with such term as of yet) and it has been further complicated by mycotoxicosis (black mold poisoning). BII in itself is extremely complex and can be debilitating, it’s been slowly coming to light and finally now being acknowledged (thank goodness). In fact there has been a recent international recall of breast implants by the very brand/company who’s implants I have inside of me;

I’ve since found a Plastic Surgeon who specializes in “Explants” (removal of breast implants), the problem is that my insurance doesn’t cover the full cost and the more time passes the more my health declines, thus making healing that much more complicated. My family and I have tried to save and raise money in many different ways, but it wasn’t enough. Trying to do such a thing can be difficult when you have bills, debt, and five children to care for like we do, especially on such short notice! We presently get by in life with just enough (like most other New Yorkers). Please do know and understand that putting this fundraiser together was a huge decision that took a lot from me. I hate to ask or bother anyone for anything, ESPECIALLY money (I’m usually the one giving and helping) and this is all also painfully personal. But after being pushed by several people, much prayer, and meditation, I decided to give this a try.
I’d be tremendously grateful beyond words for any amount that you can afford to give!
