My cousin-in-law (and little sister from another mister) Elizabeth just turned 30 last month and had her beautiful baby girl, Journey, this past January. Shortly after Journey's birth, Elizabeth and her husband separated with Elizabeth maintaining custody (and sole financial responsibility) of Journey.

During Elizabeth's pregnancy, she was having trouble breathing, which is not atypical for many pregnant women, and her doctors chalked it up to pregnancy asthma.

After Journey was born, Elizabeth was still having trouble breathing and developed a cough. She sought medical attention but was told it was likely due to hormone fluctuations after the birth of her baby.

Finally, mid-October this year, after becoming incredibly winded for the millionth time walking up the stairs to her apartment, Elizabeth insisted on having a chest x-ray to figure out what was going on. Unfortunately, it was obvious that there was a large mass in her chest, encroaching on her heart and lungs.

After several procedures and biopsies in the last month, Elizabeth has been diagnosed with Stage III/IV Nodular Sclerosing Classical Hodgkin’s Lymphoma (NScHL). Please join her in her fight against cancer by making a donation.

Elizabeth had a port put in last week and will be undergoing a very aggressive chemotherapy regime starting the day before Thanksgiving.

Elizabeth has had to stop working because of the four surgeries in the past month and will have to continue to stay out of work in order to remove herself from the risk of germs while she undergoes chemo.

In addition, because she used up all of her sick leave and vacation leave during her maternity leave this year, Elizabeth is on an unpaid medical leave. And all of her personal savings have gone to pay the co-pays for the four medical procedures she's had in the past month. She's currently unable to pay her next month's rent or afford internet.

Unfortunately, to add insult to injury, Elizabeth's dad, John Lidgard, just passed this week leaving Elizabeth without his emotional and financial help. In addition, Elizabeth just found out that Journey's daycare is closing so Elizabeth will need to take care of Journey or hire sitters to watch her while she goes to her medical appointments. And, obviously, once the chemo starts to do its job killing the cancer, Elizabeth may not have the physical stamina to take care of an 11-month-old.

If you can spare any amount of money to help Elizabeth in her time of need, please donate. Elizabeth is grateful for any amount you can spare.

Funds raised will go directly towards out-of-pocket medical expenses (including: oncology co-pays, deductibles, medical equipment, and prescriptions), childcare for Journey, and living expenses for Elizabeth and Journey until Elizabeth recovers and can get back to work.

Please consider helping to alleviate Elizabeth's financial burden. Thank you for your consideration!
