This is Heather! Some may say she is the best friend, daughter, sister, dog mom, giver, laugher, and girlfriend you could imagine. This wonderful woman is so much more than those words can begin to describe, and she needs our help!

On Christmas day, surrounded by her family in Arizona, she suffered a stroke. To be exact, it was a Bilateral Vertebral Artery Dissection in the spinal cord, resulting in a stroke; a very unique and rare case say the doctors at age 36. She has been in the ICU for a week, and her next step is Acute Rehab to work on gaining mobility back to the right side of her body.

This is where YOU come in! Unfortunately, there is no insurance coverage for the care she's received thus far, nor the care she will need in continuing Physical Therapy. She needs your help getting/staying in the rehab facility that will, along with her awe inspiring drive and motivation, determine the road ahead. Since being admitted, she has made HUGE improvements, and will only keep progressing if given the help she needs! Your generous contributions will also be used to help keep and maintain her home while she recovers; a home her friends and family have all enjoyed.

For those of you who know her, know her unwavering love for dance and Dave Matthews Band. Her goal is to dance her heart out when Dave hits the stage September 2019! Let's help her get there!

"And then I'll

sing and dance,

I'll play for you tonight.

The thrill of it all.

Dark clouds may hang on me sometimes

But I'll work it out." -DMB

While Heather enjoys flowers, your donations here instead will make a longer lasting impact on her recovery.

*When considering a donation please be aware that online donations will have a 3% processing fee deducted. Offline donations will be mailed directly and are also appreciated. Please make any checks out to Heather Goodwin and send to 732 S A Street, Washougal, WA. 98671.

Plumfund, Thank You! Your continued support does not go unnoticed. The jewelry party fundraiser, Barre raffle, and even a birthday party in my honor are so over the top appreciated. Each day starts rough trying to dress myself, check emails, contact insurance companies and doctors offices. I try and catch up on work emails and acclimate myself back into work mode. And this is all broken up with workouts and arm, hand and finger rehab. However I owe it to you all, and myself, to keep up the fight. I strive to be back to my normal self, or rather my new-norm soon. I hope to be headed back home by my birthday April 2nd so stay tuned to see what happens! And remember, schedule in time for yourself even if it’s 5 minutes. Just shut it all off for a brief moment and remember your purpose, you owe that to yourself. You owe your mind, your body and your spirit. be good to it. Stay strong with me, I’m thankful for each and ever one of you and think of each of you often. Love, Heather

After 8 days in ICU fighting for her life, and 2 weeks of INTENSE physical rehab, Heather has officially graduated! First stop...puppies! Nothing makes her happier than puppy breath, so while she waits to be reunited with her fur baby Tucker, her boyfriend Jeremique made a quick pit stop for her to get a little lovin’ from this adorable, WINKING, pup! Heather has officially transitioned out of a hospital for the first time since Christmas Day (woohoo), to her mother Ramona’s home in AZ. She will continue working on walking without assistance, and getting that right arm and hand working again! Her goal is to be home in time for her birthday in a few months! With acute rehab paid for, our next goal will be to put a dent in her ICU bills, so please keep sharing her story, and the prayers coming!

Yeah!!!!!! Go Heather Go!!!!!! Puppy breath can heal our spirits like nothing else!

You did it! Acute Rehab has been 100% covered and Heather is showing us what she’s made of! 5 days ago she was barely able to stand with a walker with 3 people holding her. TODAY? She’s doing stair climbers with assistance, walking short distances WITHOUT a walker with minimal assistance, and what time she has left in her day is spent building strength in her right arm and hand. She has a long way to go but has accomplished the impossible already! With rehab taken care of,she feels a big weight has been lifted! Heather is enjoying reading all of your letters, texts, and with each donation she opens, it’s one less thing she has to worry about! The plan....she will stay in rehab until Monday 1/14. She’ll then transition to her mom’s home in Arizona to continue to work on her recovery for the next few months. In the meantime, please continue to share her story! To follow her story on Instagram please follow @heather_of_the_woods , @a.l.a.n.a_j.o.y , @koonsburg , or @ jeremique_jay.

I’m happy to announce Heather has made it to Acute Rehab! She DID it! YOU did it! She wants to send a very special thank you to all of those who shared, donated, and sent love her way!!! She’s definitely feeling it all the way down in Arizona. Because of your generous contributions, she was able to cover her $7,500 downpayment last night!!! Please continue to share and spread the word, as we still have a few more financial hurdles to overcome! The next payment of $8,000 for rehab, will be due in the next few weeks, and we are hoping to raise even more to cover her mortgage and utilities in the meantime. Heather is making such incredible progress each day, that even the physical therapists are blown away! Stay tuned for the next update as I’m sure at the rate she’s going, they’ll happen fast and frequent πŸ’ž
