Jason was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis earlier this year. His GI doctor created a medical plan. The first surgery in the medical plan was to put a stent in to his bile duct. This surgery occurred but a few hours after that surgery it caused him to have acute pancreatitis. It was determined that a portion of his pancreas was necrotic and there was an abscess. They put him on a feeding tube and sent him home for his body to try to heal until he could get in to a specialist at IU Health. He started getting better but on Black Friday he had more complications and was readmitted into the hospital in the ICU. At this moment the doctors are saying he will need to be in the hospital at least another couple of weeks. It seems every time he takes one step forward something else happens to keep him in ICU. He needs all the prayers and support he can get during this difficult time. He has insurance and they are hoping most of the cost will be covered however they are aware that there will be a lot that won’t and several other surgeries still needed. Any help to cover the difference would be appreciated as his road to recovery is going to be a very long process.
