On Friday Nov 30 2018 we were told to bring Remy back to the hospital because a 2nd cancer, acute myeloid leukemia (t-AML) had become present as a result of her 1st chemotherapy treatment in 2017 for Ewing Sarcoma when she was 10 years old. Many have been asking how they might help. Most of all, we ask for prayers as we know these are powerful. We also ask those willing and able to help our family with medical needs and/or household bills as the result of lost wages as we spend as much time as possible with Remy while she is battling cancer and our daughter Harlow.
Remy’s (t-AML) treatment, will keep us in the hospital for 4 to 6 months with only a possibility of one or two small breaks to bring her home to see her cat and sleep in her own bed. Erika and I are switching off every two days sharing the overnight duties at the hospital. This includes hours of driving across town multiple times each day 7 days a week managing our time with Remy while also taking care of Harlow’s high school and social schedule.
We are facing what God has asked of us to the best of our abilities and we remain positive and grateful. What the upcoming months and years hold for us is unclear and we are doing what we can to prepare ourselves for the journey. We are grateful for the prayers and the support that so many have given our family in our experience with Remy’s first cancer treatment and are even more grateful for more prayers and support for Remy and our family for this new challenge. We hope to grow the number of people praying for our family as we move forward. We are also inviting people that would like and are able to donate to our fight to heal Remy of her cancer battle with AML. For those that may not be in a position to donate we ask that you consider passing this site on to someone who can.
Thank you from the bottom of or hearts.
