Hi friends,

If you know the Millsons, you know they’ve been through some pretty rough times with medical issues over the past couple years.

This most recent event, with sweet baby Cora (okay I know she’s 3 now, but it seems like Erin was just pregnant with her, doesn’t it???), really threw us all for a loop. It was a crazy emotional whirlwind, starting with Cora (who never complains) complaining of abdominal pain that seemed severe enough to warrant a visit to an after hours urgent care on Tuesday evening. It was a good thing they took her in, because that was where they discovered a mass in her abdomen and sent her to the ER at CHOA. At CHOA, scans confirmed that Cora had a tumor and we all feared the worst. The next morning, a CT scan revealed that it was a BENIGN ovarian teratoma, and we all felt the relief that the word Benign brings with it. She was prepped for surgery that day and the tumor was removed successfully. It was approximately 8cm, baseball sized, taking up most of her abdomen. Sweet baby Cora was so brave through it all and while we wait for pathology to say 100% for sure that it’s benign, her surgeons feel confident enough to give us all hope that this will be the end of it and Cora will be back to her regular self in no time.

We’ve been so grateful that Jared is doing as well as he is, and while the complications are becoming fewer and further between, they’re still happening occasionally. On the same day Cora had her surgery, he found out that he has a severe hernia that will require surgery and will have an extensive recovery time.

As you can imagine, even with insurance, the medical bills will really add up. They’re looking at at least $7500 out of pocket for Cora’s procedure, and Jared’s bills are still not determined.

If you know the Millsons, you know they are some of the most genuinely GOOD people you will ever meet. Erin and Jared are hard workers and excellent parents who are raising brilliant daughters. But these are really hard times for them and they could use your help now. Meals and company are greatly appreciated. Here is the link for their meal train: https://www.mealtrain.com/trains/343r71

Please also consider donating what you can to help cover their out-of-pocket expenses. This is where they will need help the most.

Thank you and bless you all. 🙏🏼💕
