Sebastian lost his courageous battle with congenital heart disease (HLHS) on July 20, 2016. He came into this world with half a heart, but lived life fully! He loved Thomas the Train, Cars, Sprout TV, camping, water, the ABCs, and counting. He loved his friends and his doggies Foxy and Tut.

Sebastian spent his whole life beating the odds and making the world fall in love with him. After surviving the 3 open heart surgeries HLHSers need, he went into sudden heart failure on Mother's Day. He spent the past three months in the Cardiac ICU and had even gotten well enough to be moved out of the ICU for almost a week. He was waiting for the gift of a new heart but his little heart couldn't keep up. He will be missed deeply.

Let's help Liz and Grey get their baby boy back to Oregon and take away the burden of funeral expenses.

Latest Update

This may be late in coming, but I want to thank each of you again for your generous donations and words of kindness. The funeral was beautiful and Sebastian's presence was widely felt, especially when a train whistle blew as friends and family laid Thomas the Train engines on his casket and as a light shined through the sky while balloons released by the children in attendance floated up to the heavens. For those who'd like to view the video shown at the service, just go to YouTube and search under "Sebastian Lucas Churchill". An extended video will also be added soon. In addition, you can follow my journey of healing and learning to cope with grief through my blog at www.lifeaftersebastian.blogspot.com Thanks and much love to you all! ~ Liz

We would like to invite everyone coming to the funeral to bring a favorite picture of Sebastian that can be pinned to our memory board. Also, if you have a memory to share or something you'd like to say at the service whether you're able to attend or not, we ask that you email or private message me so we can prepare for who will speak or if the Pastor will read the memory. Thank you again for all your support!

You should contact Raise For Rowyn. It is a charity that pays for children's funeral expenses.

I would like everyone who is attending the funeral services to know I have been asked to photograph the services. I would never want to make anyone feel uncomfortable in any way. If you are not comfortable being photographed, please let me or the director know. I am here to help honor Liz's request to have the services documented. Thank you for your respect and understanding. Sebastian's funeral services will be held next Friday, August 5th at 2pm. Service will be inside the Musgrove Funeral Home at West Lawn with a short procession out to the graveside and prayer. The address is 225 S. Danebo Ave. Eugene. We'd like to invite everyone to bring a Thomas the Train mini (they come in a little blue mystery bag and can be purchased at most stores for $1) to leave at the graveside instead of flowers. Thank you everyone for your generous donations, kind words, and being steadfast with us through the years and during this tragic time, and please continue to share this site with others.
