Hi everyone! As most of you know by now, our friend and classmate, Michael Balle passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at home on Saturday, April 16th. Although I wasn't quick enough to see that he received benefit from this account, I'm sure that Mike felt all of your love!
I received notice today that the PlumFund deadline I had set officially expired this morning. So far, I have received a very generous $950 that I am planning to distribute to Mike's widow, Naomi, this weekend to help her with any expenses she may have as a result of his illness & passing. The account will continue to accept more donations that might come in within the next 30 days, after which the account will be closed.
I want to sincerely thank those of you that have already given and encourage others of you to give as freely as you feel led (No pressure if you can't...Really!). If you know of other classmates or friends of Mike's that are not on FaceBook, please feel free to forward the information to them! Also, Dave Barber has arranged an informal gathering of friends of the Class of '84 to be held Saturday night (May 7th), at The Ugly Mug Bar & Grill on Basil-Western Rd. (formerly Club33). Show up at 7:30 and share in a toast to celebrate Mike's life, then stay to see Dave Gallagher's band, CT4 perform at 9:00. Hope to see many of you there!
