I am the youngest of three sisters who recently had our father pass away on March 1, 2017. It happened so fast and all of us were not prepared. Our Father suffered from Lung Disease for the last 12 years and went into the hospital in the middle of February for breathing problems by Feb 24th we were making arrangements to get him into hospice care. The nurse said he had up to a year to live. We all went home that Friday evening prepared for Hospice care but over the wknd he had taken a turn for the worse and drastically went down hill. By Monday morning we were all called and rushed into the hospital to find out he was "In Stage" and there were only days or even just hours left. Us sisters all sobbed and stayed by his side for three days until he finally passed that Wednesday March 1, 2017. It was one of the hardest things I've had to go through. Losing a parent or any loved one is devastating and you feel an emptiness that their no longer there. The next day we went to his house and went through all his paperwork to find out there was no life insurance policy. So the only thing we could do was have him cremated (which is the cheapest). But were still in a rut, None of us sisters have the extra money to pay for the cremation, I have a disabled husband and a 5 yr old daughter that I take care of, my oldest sister is a single mom of a 7 yr old boy. None of us were financially prepared for this. We are asking if anyone can just help us with the cost of the cremation which is around $1500. I set the fund for $2000 in-case we run into some extra expenses. I'm sad that we were not able to have a proper viewing and burial for him but if we can at least have him cremated and since he served in the Navy he wanted to be buried at the VA Cemetery. So the VA will help us with his burial and have a military service. Its just the cremation that we need to come up with money for. Robert aka Bobby was a great father . He had many paths in his career and was a jack of all trades. He use to teach me how to work on cars or small odd jobs around the house. His true passion was cooking, he has shown my sisters and I so many recipes. That was his joy besides us daughters. He appreciated family and holidays were big for him, family always came first and he would have done anything for us (of what he could). Daddy, I hope we can make you proud and hopefully we can raise the money to finally put you to rest.
